How to measure accurately
Measure for your mount type and window type, and always round DOWN to the nearest 1/16".
Inside mount
The shade sits inside the window recess for a clean, built-in look. Measure the exact opening width and height — we make the precise deductions for a perfect fit, so give us the true opening, not a guess.
Outside mount
The shade mounts on the wall or trim above the window, covering the whole opening for maximum blackout. Measure the area you want the shade to cover and add overlap on each side and the top.
Width & height tips
- Measure width in 3 places (top, middle, bottom) and height in 3 places (left, middle, right).
- For inside mount, use the narrowest width and shortest height of the opening.
- Use a steel tape measure and round DOWN to the nearest 1/16".
