Flex is a payment solution that makes it easier for you to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds. Instead of dealing with complicated reimbursement processes or keeping track of receipts, Flex lets you pay for eligible healthcare expenses directly from your account.

UBlockout has partnered with Flex to enable qualified customers to purchase the Ultimate Blackout Shade with their HSA/FSA funds, with possible savings of up to 30-40% off regular pricing.

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are tax-advantaged accounts designed to help you pay for medical expenses.

Here are the key differences:

• FSAs are owned by your employer, making them "use it or lose it" accounts where unused funds typically expire at year-end and are lost when you change jobs.

• HSAs, on the other hand, are owned by you individually, meaning the money stays with you permanently through job changes and rolls over year after year. You can even open an HSA yourself if you're self-employed, making it a more flexible long-term solution.

The substantial tax savings come from three powerful tax benefits these accounts provide:

• Tax-free contributions - Money contributed to your HSA or FSA is deducted from your paycheck before taxes are applied, directly reducing your taxable income for the year.

• Tax-free growth - HSAs offer the additional advantage of allowing you to invest your funds, and any investment gains grow completely tax-free (similar to a Roth IRA). FSAs don't offer this investment option.

At checkout, after entering your delivery details, select 'Pay with HSA/FSA' as your payment option. You will be prompted to complete a brief telehealth consult to confirm your eligibility to pay with HSA/FSA.

From there, enter your HSA or FSA debit card details and complete your checkout as usual. If you don’t have your HSA or FSA debit card handy, you can also complete the checkout with a regular credit or debit card. You will recieve an itemized reciept which you can use for reimbursement.

A Letter of Medical Necessity, or LOMN, is a doctor's note that deems a product or service medically necessary for you as a patient. The LOMN, written by a licensed healthcare provider, will outline why a specific purchase is medically necessary for your individual situation.

When you elect to checkout with Flex, that doctor's appointment takes place right in the checkout flow. You fill out a short eligibility form, sharing relevant information with Flex's medical team. If you qualify, Flex sends the Letter of Medical Necessity to you via email. Then, you enter your HSA or FSA card details and complete the purchase.

If you don't have your HSA/FSA card with you, you can still complete your purchase using a regular credit card or debit card, then get reimbursed later. Here's how:

1. Complete your purchase using any payment method (credit card, debit card, etc.).

2. Keep your receipt and the Letter of Medical Necessity that Flex emails you.

3. Submit a reimbursement claim to your HSA/FSA provider using these documents.

4. Get your money back - your HSA/FSA provider will reimburse you for the qualified medical expense.

This process takes a bit longer than using your HSA/FSA card directly, but you'll still get the same tax benefits and reimbursement. The Letter of Medical Necessity from Flex serves as your documentation that the purchase was medically necessary, which is exactly what your HSA/FSA provider needs for reimbursement.
