Upgrading your UBlockout shades to include a SmartHub gives you unparalleled control over light and dark in your home:

We recommend one SmartHub per room or main area of your home. This ensures you can interact with all your shades with ease.

Using a UBlockout SmartHub, you can connect your shades to Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, IFTTT and Siri. 

SmartHub also integrates with existing smart bridges, including Bond Bridge.

To set up our SmartHub, you'll need:

• motorized UBlockout shades
• your home assistant device (Google Home, Alexa, Siri, IFTTT and SmartThings)
• a smartphone with the associated home assistant app installed
• a 2.4GHz WiFi router (5GHz and 6GHz WiFi routers are currently unsupported)

Yes, you can link your motorized shade to a SmartHub connection at any time. You're also able to upgrade from manual to motorized in your own time too with our motorization upgrade.

At UBlockout, your privacy and security are important to us. We collect only the information necessary to provide SmartHub functionality, synchronize your devices and deliver the features you choose to use. We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We are committed to designing our products with privacy in mind, ensuring that your data is handled securely and transparently while giving you reliable control of your smart shading system.

What cloud services does the UBlockout SmartHub use?

The UBlockout SmartHub uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) to securely manage customer accounts, device synchronization and automation services.

Where is my data stored?

Customer account information, device configuration, schedules and automation data are securely stored and processed using AWS servers located in Germany and the United States.

Can I operate the SmartHub without the cloud?

Yes. Once your SmartHub and devices have been added and configured, they can be controlled entirely over your local network.

An internet connection is only required during the initial device setup and for cloud-based services such as remote access, account synchronization and device management.

What information is transmitted to UBlockout’s servers?

To provide a seamless experience across your devices and keep your app synchronized with your SmartHub, the following information is securely transmitted:

• Blind open/close status (to keep the app synchronized with the actual blind position)
• Scheduled automations
• Location information (used only to calculate sunrise and sunset automations)

Your public IP address is not transmitted or stored by UBlockout as part of normal SmartHub operation.

Diagnostic logs are not uploaded, as the diagnostic feedback feature has been removed from the UBlockout Connector app.

Does the UBlockout app use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs?

No. The UBlockout Connector app does not include any third-party analytics, advertising or marketing SDKs.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

When you delete your UBlockout Connector app account, all data associated with your account is permanently deleted.
